PRODUCTION
The Miroglio Group decided to enter the wool sector in 1999, when the opportunity arose to acquire a large wool mill at Sliven in Bulgaria. This was undertaken with great enthusiasm and commitment, with the objective of creating a company in keeping with the Miroglio philosophy, aiming at verticalization of the production and the creation of technologically state-of-the-art production units.

The wool mill is composed of five plants - carded spinning, combed spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing - over a total area of 73,000 square metres. Carded and combed pure and mixed wool fabrics are produced here. In keeping with the Group's philosophy of using the latest technology in all its production plant, all the machinery was replaced so as to introduce the most advanced textile technology available on the market. The current production capacity (2003) stands at approximately 5 million metres of fabric a year.

The production is verticalized, in that Miroglio Lana has the capacity to:
• Piece, raw yarn, bobbin, fibre and top dye.
• Spin using the Carded technique.
• Spin using the Combed technique,(we are among the first in the world to possess the new technology offered by Compact spinning machines).
• Weave, with the possibility of producing small sample quantities using a Suzuki warper.
• Piece-dye.
To finish fabrics by means of both the "biella" method for combed wools and the "prato" method for carded wools. Our factories have ISO 9001 certification, and all the products comply with OEKOTEX ecology standards.

This huge investment in technology amounting to approx. 50 million Euros is an essential element of the Miroglio Lana product concept, which focuses on Creativity, Service, Quality, and Value-For-Money: Made in Bulgaria with an Italian flavour. All this, combined with constant, meticulous controlling of all the steps involved in production, guarantees a standard of quality and reliability to cater for the requirements of the market.
